Operation STEM

Operation STEM (OpSTEM) is a program that offers interactive and engaging experiences for incoming first-year students (OpSTEM Scholars) pursuing STEM degrees. OpSTEM's primary mission is to provide students with the resources needed to excel in their precalculus-calculus courses, develop successful academic practices, and collaborate with their peers pursuing STEM degrees.

OpSTEM annually serves approximately 100* freshman OpSTEM Scholars who engage in:

  • The OpSTEM Summer Institute, A 2-Week Summer Bridge Experience & CSU Onboarding
  • Mandatory Supplemental Instruction Led by STEM Peer Teachers (SPTs)
  • Academic Course Guidance
  • STEM Professional Speaker Series
  • College Success & Professional Development Workshops
  • Up to $1000 in scholarship funds
  • Free Summer Calculus Course for Eligible Scholars

*In addition to the 100 OpSTEM Scholars, we provide academic support to an additional 500+ students in a variety of math courses each semester.

OPSTEM IS PROVIDED AT NO COST FOR THE STUDENT. ANY GIFT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
