Center for Human Machine Systems

CENTER for Human Machine Systems

The Center for Human-Machine Systems (CHMS) develops technology to improve the lives of people with disabilities. The center does this by partnering with the disability community and via collaborations between faculty and students across colleges at CSU on life changing research, education, and community outreach.  Our flagship programs are the Rehabilitation Engineering at CSU summer undergraduate research experience (https://engineering.csuohio.edu/recsu) and the graduate traineeship in human-machine systems for physical rehabilitation (https://engineering.csuohio.edu/nrt/hms-graduate-program).  Learn more at https://engineering.csuohio.edu/research/center-for-human-machine-systems

We are especially looking for donations to support:

  • people with disabilities serving as consultants to our research projects
  • students with disabilities and from underrepresented minority groups participating in our educational programs
  • student internships working in the disability community
