There are several ways to support students in the Chemical and Biomedical Engineering Department on Giving Day 2026.
Becky Laird Memorial Award – An annual award for graduate students who are leaders in the department has been established in the name of Becky Laird, our long-time department administrator who passed away last year. Becky dedicated over 33 years of her life to the Chemical and Biomedical Engineering Department. She was described by students, faculty, and staff as the soul of the department. She was a mentor and friend to many of our students, offering a sympathetic ear and guidance for some of life’s challenges when needed. Known for her quick wit and sense of humor, she brought laughter and joy to those around her, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. Our target is to raise $4500 to support this award. If donations exceed this amount, we will give additional student scholarships in Becky’s name.
Chemical & Biomedical Engineering Endowment – Support student travel, scholarships, and programming through our endowment fund.
